Wet Strength Tissue Paper Biodegradable Packaging

Here at Carnival Papers we have been working hard to find a way to package our products in a safe and an environmentally friendly way. We have tried eliminating plastic totally but tissue paper and moisture do not work well together!

But we have found a way!

We are excited to announce that all our plastic films are now 100% compostable! Our new film is partly derived from sugar cane and is an eco-friendly alternative to standard polythene film. Here's why this is a game-changer for the environment.

What Makes Our Film Special?

Our plastic film is made from a blend of co-polyester and PLA, which is derived from the renewable resources sugar cane. Unlike traditional plastics, which can take decades to degrade, our compostable plastic is designed to break down naturally, reducing the need for recycling and minimizing landfill waste.

Environmentally Friendly and Certified

We have chose a film that is manufactured in the UK and accredited with the EN13432 standard, meaning it meets the highest environmental standards. The process leaves behind valuable compost, free of toxins, which can be used in gardening or agriculture.

Compostable vs. Biodegradable: What’s the Difference?

It's important to understand the difference between biodegradable and compostable plastics. While all compostable plastics are biodegradable, not all biodegradable plastics are compostable. Compostable plastics are specifically designed to break down into soil conditioning material under certain conditions, usually in a commercial or industrial composting facility. This process involves microorganisms, heat, and humidity, ensuring the plastic decomposes completely and leaves no toxic residue.

On the other hand, biodegradable plastics may degrade in soil or water, but the time frame and conditions for this process are less controlled. This makes compostable plastics a more reliable and environmentally friendly option.

How to Dispose of Our Compostable Film

Our compostable film is versatile and can degrade on land or in the sea, making it a responsible choice for disposal. However, it's important to dispose of it correctly. It is suitable for home composting so it can be placed in your home compost bin along with other organic waste like fruit, vegetables, and garden cuttings. The film will decompose, turning into nutrient-rich soil.

For those without a home composting system, the film is 100% recyclable at points in most large supermarkets that collect plastic for recycling.

A Step Towards a Sustainable Future

Our transition to compostable plastic film represents a significant step towards reducing environmental impact. By choosing plant-based, compostable materials, we are not only offering a high-quality product but also contributing to a greener future. We encourage you to join us in this journey towards sustainability by using and disposing of our products responsibly. Together, we can make a difference!
